Stocks Rise On Bernanke, Bush Speeches on Credit, Mortgages

Stocks ran up gains Friday as investors took comments from President Bush and Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke as signs that Wall St. wouldn't be left to deal with the mortgage and credit problems on its own. The Dow rose more than 160 points.
