U.S. says Iran has a role in Afghan talks

ROME (Reuters) - The United States recognizes that Iran has a role to play in resolving the Afghan conflict, U.S. envoy Richard Holbrooke said on Monday, as Iran attended talks with other nations on the issue for the first time.
