Jason Kidd's first basket of the game, a tip-in of a missed layup, gave the New Jersey Nets the lead for good with 30 seconds to play Tuesday night in a 96-92 victory over the Washington Wizards, who lost their fifth straight yet finally managed to clinch a playoff spot.
