In the SOUTH FLORIDA SUN-SENTINEL, Ira Winderman reports "the Heat's list of available alternatives at point guard has been reduced by one, although a familiar face soon could again make it three options at the position in time for the Sept. 27 start of training camp. Jason Richards, who signed a two-year contract with a small guarantee at the start of the offseason, has been lost for the coming season because of a torn anterior cruciate ligament. Richards, an undrafted rookie out of Davidson, hurt his knee shortly after he competed in the Orlando Pro Summer League in July, with the Heat having yet to reveal the details.
