According to an Associated Press report on ESPN.com, "The NBA's MVP will not be MIA when the Los Angeles Lakers open camp later this month.
Lakers star Kobe Bryant said Tuesday on his Web site that he plans to forgo surgery to repair ligament damage in his right pinkie finger.
