Pistons OK Deal With Former No. 1 Pick Kwame Brown

In the DETROIT FREE PRESS, Vince Ellis reports "the Pistons are banking on their history after agreeing to terms with the enigma known as Kwame Brown, the No. 1 pick in the 2001 NBA draft. Brown's agent, Mark Bartelstein, confirmed Monday that the Pistons had OK'd a deal, which had not been signed yet. The two-year deal is for $4 million per season with a player option for a second year, meaning the 6-foot-11 power forward can opt out of the deal after one season. ‘He is a tremendous talent, and we think this can be a kind of a rebirth for his career,' Bartelstein said. ‘He's very excited about this.' "
