In the CHICAGO SUN-TIMES, Jay Mariotti writes "this was a curious thing for the general manager to blurt after making Rose the No. 1 pick of the NBA draft -- or the 1.7 Percent Miracle, as he's now known in his hometown. Did Chris Paul need time? Did Deron Williams need time? Isn't Rose known for his work ethic, his passion to be the best? Didn't he say the previous day that he wanted to be the league MVP in HIS ROOKIE SEASON? Didn't he vow in five years to be "not a star but, like, a superstar. Look. He needs to play and play a hell of a lot. Period. Surrounded by bright lights, cameras, agents, gawkers in Bulls garb, writers from around the world and league people willing to fetch him water and scratch his feet if he'd prefer, Rose sat a bit dazed in his red Bulls cap when he was asked about Paxson's interesting remarks."
