It became so popular in New York city that orange tomatoes contains a certain lycopene that helps the system of our bodies to fight different kinds of diseases, according to the food scientists at Ohio State University in Columbus.

The scientists said that lycopene can cure people who are sick with hypertension, age related eye problems and heart diseases. Lycopene is also known as a reducer of having a cancer.

It is said that orange tomatoes are more nutritious compare to the red tomatoes. In recent tests Dr. Steven Schwartz and colleagues looked for volunteers that will eat two meals of spaghetti on different occasions. One is made up of sauce from an orange tomato and the other from red tomatoes. Then afterwards blood samples were taken from volunteers right after the spaghetti meals to analyze for lycopene content.

In the results it showed that lycopene from the orange tomato sauce was higher about 2.5 percent compare to the red tomato sauce. Dr. Schwartz said that consumers could use orange or gold-colored heirloom tomatoes as an alternative although their lycopene content is not yet tested.

So for a better heart and better health make it a habit of eating orange tomatoes instead of red ones. Remember good health for a happy life.
