In the IDAHO STATESMAN, Brian Murphy writes "the winningest coach in NBA Development League history - the league's reigning coach of the year and the choice to guide the West team in this year's All-Star Game - is all things to all people. With Friday's 98-89 victory against Bakersfield, the Stampede tied a D-League record with their 15th consecutive victory. In two seasons with the Stampede, Bryan Gates is 53-22, a .706 winning percentage, the highest in the seven-year history of the D-League. The 34-year-old Gates never played college basketball. He walked into the Stampede offices a decade ago and offered his services to then-coach Bobby Dye."
