In the CONTRA COSTA TIMES, Marcus Thompson II writes "Warriors coach Don Nelson, the noted offensive genius, has some weapons to work with now. Finally. It's like giving James Bond fancy gadgets. The result is a more athletic and productive group of players. Now, the roster is much better suited to play the up-tempo style of play. In a radio interview after the trade, Nelson said he doesn't know exactly how he's going to incorporate his new crop of players. But he said he expects them to fit in and play a lot of minutes.
