Marbury Says He Is Willing to Accept Role as a Backup

In the NEW YORK TIMES, Howard Beck writes "As he prepared Friday for another game as the Knicks' backup point guard, Marbury projected something resembling humility, or perhaps resignation. He acknowledged the resentment held by his teammates. He spoke constructively about working to regain his coach's faith. He joked about competing for the Sixth Man of the Year award. Three days after he stormed away in a fit over losing his starting job, Marbury sounded like a different person. 'The season,' he said at the Knicks' morning shoot-around, 'is still young.'"
