In the PIONEER PRESS, Rick Alonzo writes, "Sebastian Telfair is no stranger to getting opportunities. But Friday night he got his first with the Timberwolves as the team's starting point guard for the season opener against Denver. It took an injury to Randy Foye to open a spot for Telfair, who will have a chance to prove himself in the coming weeks while Foye mends his injured knee. The Wolves played host to Denver at Target Center to kick off the season. This is Telfair's third team in four NBA seasons. His previous stints in Portland and Boston didn't work out because of legal issues off the court and erratic play on it."
