In NEWSDAY, Alan Hahn writes, "Even before Stephon Marbury announced his intentions to continue his career in Italy after his Knicks contract is up, the search for his replacement had begun. Isiah Thomas admittedly looked into signing free agent Steve Blake, a good ball-distributing guard. Meanwhile, Nate Robinson spent the offseason trying to get his wildly erratic game under control and be more of a defensive-minded player. He proved in the Las Vegas summer league that he could be an effective traditional point guard, albeit against lesser competition."
