In the SEATTLE POST-INTELLIGENCER, Gary Washburn writes "it's Day 2 of practice and the Sonics are in the beginning stages of digesting P.J. Carlesimo's defensive system. But he was able to make a quick analysis of Durant, and the rookie will get most of his playing time at shooting guard to begin the preseason. Durant was matched up against Wally Szczerbiak in five-on-five scrimmages and is playing with the finesse of a shooting guard. ‘He can play both (shooting guard and small forward), but I am trying to limit him to one position to get his minutes,' Carlesimo said. ‘He can play, and probably will play, both.' ”
