According to FIBA.com, "Greece trailed 61-49 with 2:30 remaining, but Nikolaos Zisis's two free throws started a 14-1 furious flurry to the finish, capped by Theo Papaloukas's driving lay-up with 6.7 seconds left. Jaka Lakovic was well short on a potential game-winning three-pointer at the buzzer and Greece lived on for another chance to defend their title with a 63-62 victory. Greece next play world champions and hosts Spain in Saturday's semi-final while the Slovenians face Germany in the 5th-8th place classificiation games."
