In the HARTFORD COURANT, Lori Riley writes "it was hard for Diana Taurasi to feel good about knocking her friend Sue Bird out of the WNBA playoffs in the first round. But then again, she didn't feel that bad about it. Meaning that Bird and the Seattle Storm had already won a WNBA championship in 2004. Meaning that now it was Taurasi and the Phoenix Mercury's turn. Taurasi came on at the end of the season to help Phoenix clinch the Western Conference's best record (23-11)."
