In the BOSTON HERALD, Steve Bulpett writes "beyond the fact they lead famed franchises in the city of Boston, there isn't much Terry Francona and Doc Rivers have in common that could explain their friendship. Except Michael Jordan. Francona managed him in the minors, and Rivers couldn't guard him. Rivers laughed, too, but, having more than a passing acquaintance with the bottom of Jordan's sneakers, not as much."
