When Jannero Pargo signed a free-agent contract with the Hornets in the summer of 2006, no one – including Pargo himself – envisioned how prominent his role would turn out to be for the 2006-07 team. After injuries kept fellow guards Bobby Jackson and Chris Paul out of the lineup for 26 and 18 games, respectively, Pargo's addition proved to be one of the reasons why New Orleans remained in the Western Conference playoff race until the final week of the regular season.
