In THE FREE PRESS, Shawn Windsor reports "At no point did Chauncey Billups consider leaving the Pistons when he became a free agent this summer. “I've got some history here,” Billups said at a news conference this morning at the Birmingham Country Club. “I went from a pretty good player to an elite player, one of the best at my positions." That he did so in Detroit, after bouncing around the NBA for six years, meant a lot, he said. That the region embraced him meant even more."
