Rockets in Chase for Lewis

Jonathan Feigen of the HOUSTON CHRONICLE reports, "The Rockets were expected to take a long-shot run at Seattle SuperSonics forward Rashard Lewis. The Rockets can offer only a mid-level exception contract expected to begin at about $5.5 million. That will likely not be half what Lewis, who jumped to the NBA from Elsik High School in 1998, can command as a free agent, leaving the Rockets' hopes based on a sign-and-trade deal with the SuperSonics."
