Stern to step down as commissioner on Feb. 1, 2014

David Stern informed the NBA's Board of Governors today that he will step down as NBA Commissioner on Feb. 1, 2014, 30 years to the date he took over the position. Stern also announced that the Board of Governors voted unanimously to accept his recommendation that Deputy Commissioner Adam Silver succeed him as Commissioner.
