Saints offered Brees biggest deal in NFL history before 2011 season

The Saints have been painted with a broad brush as being the cheapskate throughout much of the team's contract negotiations with Drew Brees in that the team isn't willing to fully open up its wallet for the former Super Bowl MVP. That might not be the case at all.
