In the NEWARK STAR-LEDGER, Dave D'Alessandro writes “the Nets shooting star disclosed yesterday that the proximity to his daughter, Kai -- or even to his off-season home in Orlando, Fla. -- would have no bearing on where he plays next season, or on the decision to opt out of his contract. ‘I've been able to cope with it now, been able to make it work,' said Carter. Everything – except location, apparently – is in play. Though he did joke that Minnesota (‘too cold') and Salt Lake City (‘They're still playing ... but, no') aren't exactly desirable destinations. He wasn't even certain he would opt out of his contract stating, ‘If I don't have to test it, I won't.' ”
